On May 9th...I woke up Dave early to show him this...

We are both very excited to be parents! This is something we picked up while we were in NYC on a mission trip...if you are wondering why Dave is dressed that way and has that horrible mustache, it's because he is playing "Burl" (based on, "My name is Earl) in the summer series at our church:) We did some taping for that while we were in NYC.

Bathroom- BEFORE

Dave & I have recently done a few home improvements...starting with our bathroom. The bathroom was one of the rooms I hadn't painted when we first moved here in 2006...sooo when I accidentley sprayed my shower curtain with my bleach cleaner instead of febreze like I had attended...I decided it was time for a little bathroom make over:)

Now a confession.... For almost 3 years we have been putting up a sheet in our bedroom, guestroom and office because all we had on the windows were white sheers....well we finally did something about that!

One more fun detail we did to our other bathroom that is connected to our bedroom is get a medicine cabinet, yeah no more stuff on the counter!:)

Really, Really Cold

It's been really cold here the last couple days. Calling for "feels" like -35 C and stuff (which by the way I don't get, if it feels like -35 but it's actually something else, who cares, all that matters is what it feels like cause that how cold you're going feel, in our minds are we like "it feels like -40, but it's really only -10, so I'm not that cold".... Stupid).

So anyways, it's been really cold and getting colder till Monday. So we're staying inside a lot. That's fun, good thing we got our Wii.

Also LOSTclub has started again. We began LOSTclub again Wednesday night after youth. We watched the last 3 hours (by accident) of last season to get us ready for the season premier next Wednesday. We're so pumped. LOST rocks, and LOSTclub makes it even better (in case you're wondering LOSTclub is a group of people from our community that get together to watch, well, LOST, duh, we have a great time trying to figure out what's going on)

That's about it... I have a meeting today to talk about our plans for this years Rally in the Valley. Looking likes it's going to pretty sweet... Matt LeRoy is going to be our speaker and Brent Ingersoll is going to be leading worship, plus we have a sweet sound system and lights rented so it's going to rock.

Hey all...

I figure it's a new year so we might start updating stuff to this old blog of ours...

So here goes:

We still live in Quispamsis, NB (Say it with me "QUIS-PAM-SIS", wasn't that fun)

I (Dave) still work at Kings Valley Wesleyan Church... Youth Pastor

Lynnette's photography continues to take off check out the updated website (masonphotography.ca) She's booking for 2010 already... Crazy

We even just painted our bathroom chocolate brown with white towels and shower curtain (White and brown in the bathroom all we need is yellow and it will look like a toilet)

Oh and we finally got blinds put up (so no more sheets hanging on the windows) I (Dave again) did it myself and it's surprising how complicated an "easy-to-install" thing can be, but I think I got it right in the end and as I said, no more sheets on the windows so yipee

We went home for Christmas (Quispamsis-Ottawa-Midland-Ottawa-Quispamsis) Close to 48 hours of driving... Yeah and we still have the Jeep so highways are no pleasure, but it was great to be with family

We got a Wii for Christmas (I know I sound like a 12 year old) but really it's a lot of fun, so far we're hooked on bowling and Wii Fit (oh and I got Lego Star Wars so I really am 12 years old again)

For those who check this, I'm sooo sorry, we have been crazy busy & blogging just hasn't happened. I promise I will update you soon on the events in our lives this summer...for now I will show you why I have been busy...

I feel blessed that God has provided for me to do photography...it's become a passion that I truly love to do. Besides all the amazing ministry opportunities that Dave & I have had this summer...(mission trips to NYC & Toronto, teen camps, & summer events) my summer has been packed with weddings and family sessions, so here's a peak at some of the weddings I have done this summer...

The View- Pastor's Wives Edition

On Mother's Day they asked the wives of all the Pastor's to take over the message with..."The View, Pastor's Wives Edition". We had alot of fun and we discussed "hot topics" such as...should mom's work or stay at home...how do you raise your kids to love Jesus? Then we were able to have an interview with two generations of Mother's...a new mom and her mom. We had alot of fun with this & the church seemed to really enjoy it.

Rally in the Valley

Rally in the Valley was an amazing weekend! God truly blessed this event and it was so exciting to see God at work! We had over 350 teens & over 100 + adults attended this district event and 25 students gave their lives to Christ! I was very proud of my husband for pouring his passion & time into this event to make it such a special time for so many students. Check out my facebook to see all the pictures & the rally website! Thank you for all your prayers, God did bless this event and we had a BLAST being used by Him!

Worship was amazing...Pastor Brent & the band did amazing leading us into kick butt worship!

My 1st Trade Show!

On Saturday I was in my 1st mini Trade Show! The event was called "A Girl Thing" and all the vender's were women running their own businesses. It was alot fun and I was able to make alot of great contacts and people really responded well to my work, so that was exciting. Becky's mom was in the trade show too, so it was great hanging out with Becky all day too!

PURE Chic'- High School Girls Lock In

This year I decided that we should do two girls night lock in's...one for the JR High girls and one for the High School Girls. Last weekend was our High School Girls Lock In- "PURE Chic'" I wanted the girls to come & enjoy a night of just being a girl!!! The night was jam packed with fun events... they could come get their hair, makeup & nails done, enjoy a fashion show put on by their peers with "PURE Chic'" fashion trends, play on DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), rock out to Guitar Hero & Rock band, and watch girly movies, such as "Enchanted" and "Ever After"...but my main purpose and vision for the night was for the girls to find out why God calls us to be Pure. I did a purity night back at College Church for my JR High girls and it was an amazing time so I really wanted to get the chance for my new girls to experience that as well. God totally blessed our "Purity talk". We had a panel of amazing women and the girls could ask ANYTHING they wanted on the subject. The girls wrote their questions on pieces of paper and were all handed in in a basket so that no one knew who asked what... I of course sorted through the questions and also made sure things were talked about like...What is purity? What does the BIBLE say about sex before marriage...Why wait?....Am I a virgin if I was abused sexually? What do I do if my boyfriend pressures me? The girls asked some amazing questions and it was a great time...later we broke up the girls in small groups with each a leader from the panel where they were able to discuss in their groups what had been talked about. I then had one of our teens sing an amazing song called..."Legacy" then I challenged the girls to decide if they wanted to leave a Legacy and live a pure life and decide to wait to have sex when they get married. It was amazing to see the response from the girls, for those who decided to take the vow of purity they were given the option to fill out a contract and post it by the cross. I was sooo proud of the girls and pray that with God's help they can live a pure and holy life.

One year older...

It's hard to think that I'm officially one year older today. I decided this year I don't want to get any older, I want to hang on to my 20's as long as I can. I have 2 more year's left and I will be out of the 20 somethings...awww! The good thing is I know I will never be able to catch up to my husband!:) Dave surprised me with my birthday present this morning, all assembled and placed in it's spot for me to discover this morning!(thanks hun!) At Christmas we got the top half of it shown in the picture below and today Dave surprised me with the bottom half...the bench/shoe holder. Lovvvve it, and love that he did it as a surprise!:) Plus I had been wanting to go to the recent Reese Whiterspoon movie and thought it was no longer showing and Dave found a theater that it was still playing in and surprised me with tickets. So it's been a fun day of surprises and wonderful Birthday wishes from family and friends.

It was sooo awesome visiting with my old friend Becky from IWU this past couple of days! It's crazy to think that it's been 5 years since we were going to IWU together! I really admire what Becky is doing right now, she has decided to take some time off from work to pursue her passion and that is creating Art as a full time job. Wow it's hard to believe that it's 2008!! This is my 10 year anniversary of High School graduation, and it's crazy to think that it's been 10 years!! Sooo much has happened in the past 10 years too, but how quickly the time flies!
New years was brought in with a few close friends this year and then on New Years Day we got to spend the day with some good old friends from IWU! It was great seeing Christin and Dwayne and their beautiful daughter, Noelle!
In other news....the past 3 weeks have been frustrating!! I (Lynnette) have had NO voice!! So after taking medicine and that not working my doctor has told me to TRY not to talk for a week and see if that works and if I still have no voice after another week she will refer me to an ENT. So please pray that I get my voice back, because I'm starting to go crazy. Dave I think is enjoying it a little too much! :)

Christmas is always a great time spent with family and Dave and I have been privileged to get the opportunity to visit both our families over the holidays. This year we spent Christmas @ the Mowat's with my family and then a few days later we got to celebrate Christmas with the Mason's @ Dave's sister's house. We (meaning Dave & myself) joke that we are the most expensive gifts to our families because gas is so crazy expensive and especially with the jeep. But each year God has provided a way for us to go home and we feel very blessed because of that! Here's a quick look at our Christmas this year with our families....

Christmas Production....

Well it's been a long time since our last post, so there is a lot to catch up on...1st I wanted to share with all of you about how our production went....Lots of work, but a lot of Fun!! The first half of the Production consisted of funny skits, & musical numbers and the second half was the play..."Word on the Street". I was the narrator and Dave was one of the guys on the street. Dave was also in the first half as Santa's shoe shiner. It was awesome to be apart of telling the story of the miracle of Jesus as if it had happened TODAY in the present time. It was an awesome way of looking at the Christmas story.

Our church puts on a big KV Christmas production each year and it is coming up NEXT week!! We have been busy with practices & building the set for the play. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to work hard to pull together all the last details. The second half of our production is the play "Word on the Street". It's a look at Mary & Joesph's reaction when confronted with the miracle of Jesus. It gives a whole new look on what they experienced as if it had happened now in 2007. The purpose of the play is to ask people to TRUST in God...even when things don't make sense. PICTURES are coming soon!

Last year for Thanksgiving was our first year in Canada & a couple in our church were kind enough to cook us an Thanksgiving meal...This year I decided it was time for my 1st attempt at cooking a Turkey...that is a 20lb turkey!! I had a blast, making homemade stuffing and pies!!! We invited as many Americans as we could from our church. It was a great night! Everyone else also provided a dish to share, it was a yummy feast!

Soooo excited!!! Dave totally surprised me, last year for Christmas we said...let's not get anything for each other...save up and get a computer...Well it finally happened just in time for Christmas this year, we got a new iMac!!! It' is sooooo wonderful! I was working all day at the Preschool @ our church, so Dave stayed home because he knew it was coming in the mail...(I had NO clue that he had even ordered it) sooo tonight after Youth Group...when I finally got to come home....Dave was like..."Honey, I have something to show you....and there it was all set up and BEAUTIFUL, our New iMac!!!!! I feel guilty having something soooo nice, but at the same time feel very BLESSED. Here are some photos we took on our iMac's "Photo Booth"...enjoy!

Dave's parents brought us our Christmas present early...a New Deep Freezer!! It's awesome, Thank you Thank you....Now we can get stuff on sale & freeze it...plus Dave's Mom showed me how to make meat pies...so I can freeze them & have a meal ready in no time!

IT's OFFICIAL!!!

Today, it's official... I (Lynnette) FINALLY got my PERMANENT RESIDENCE here in Canada!!! A week ago I received a letter saying that my application had been approved & I just had to wait to hear when my official confirmation/ interview would take place. At that time I also received a temporary work permit (YES, I CAN FINALLY WORK & get PAID!) Well today was my official confirmation/ interview and now it's official! My temporary work permit has turned into....well just I can work anywhere with out a "permit". The long wait, and stressful process is finally over, now I just need a job:) I do plan to pursue my photography & until I can really build that up I will be finding something to help pay the bills:) Just wanted to share with all of you the good news! I know I have a heap of other things I need to post about to catch up, but that will just have to wait until an different day:)

Net's Trip

My family and friends back home mean sooo much too me & living in Canada now I don't get to see them very often so it was soooo amazing how God provided a way for me to go "home" for 2 weeks! A while back TWO of my friends on separate occasions called me asking if I was willing to do the photography for them for their weddings & I told them both that I would LOVE to I just got to get a way to get there. So in exchange for the photography of the weddings, which just HAPPENED to be 2 weekends in a row...one of the brides paid to fly me in and the other one paid for me to fly home. (isn't God cool!) I mean what are the chances of these wedding being two weekends in a row!!! One in Michigan ( my friend Missy's) and the other in Indiana ( my old roomie & friend, Heather's). Also two locations that I called HOME! So this gave me a lots of opportunities to see tons of family and friends! Unfortunately I was sooo busy when I was on my trip that I didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to:( But I'm sooo happy that I got to see the people that I did. Did I not also mention the other things I got to do and be a part of while I was on my trip, (God is so cool with timing) My friend Candy had a baby shower the weekend I was in Michigan, so I got to go to that...and Leah ( my sister ) turned 30 while I was home so we got to through a SURPRISE Party for her!!!! Fun times!

Last week we had a Prayer/BBQ Night for our KV Youth leaders in preparation to our Kickoff this coming Wednesday, September 12. It was awesome coming together as a team again to lift the teens & ministry up in prayer. Remember to pray for us this week as we start the new school year @ KV Youth:)

3 Years ago today...we said I DO!

Wow it's hard to believe that 3 years of marriage have flown by! It's fun looking back at all the up's & down's, turns & twists we have gone through as a married couple. The best part of it is that we have done & gone through all of them together. God has blessed us & we want every day to be able to give back to him. Can't wait to see what God does next! I love you Dave! Happy Anniversary!

Soulfest 2007

Last week we got the privilege of taking some of our amazing teens & leaders from KV Youth to Soulfest 2007! What an awesome time we had, God provided over & over & over again!! Last year...if you remember seeing a post about Soulfest...we camped on a ski hill (2 miles from the showers & bathroom) with no shade in 110 degree weather, we still had a blast but it was a bit rough at times....This year, we got an amazing campsite near the pond, the weather was in the 80's & 90's & everything else!! It was wonderful!! Plus we decided this year not to cook all our own meals (praise the Lord) and got the Soulfest meal plan, YUMMY it was awesome (not junk food, really good food!) Besides all that God provided such a great time for our group! One of the teen girls had never been to a Christian rock concert before, let alone never had gone on a vacation, so it was soooo neat to see her sooo excited about her experience. Plus the worship times were incredible...makes me sooo excited for Heaven....we worshiped with 10,000 people @ Soulfest, I can't wait to Worship with the whole body of Christ in Heaven!

The Africa Tent Experience was amazing & sad....you listened to a MP3 player of a story of a child's life....you were that child & you listened & saw pictures of what your experiences would have been like if you were that child in Africa. The hardest part was when you visited the clinic to find out if you were negative or positive with the HIV virus....then you saw several pictures of faces with a positive mark stamped over them...representing the lives lost from Aids....very moving experience.

We were even privileged to have a baptism service at Soulfest with just our youth....Bethany got Baptized!!

Parent's Visit

What a blessing it was for us to have my parents come and stay with us! This was their first time visiting us since we moved to New Brunswick. It was so cool to show them our home, church, & community. We got to do alot of fun things while they were here. One of the highlights for me was going to Prince Edward Island. Every since I was a little girl, I have wanted to go & visit the homeland of Anne of Green Gables:) So we did! We even got to go see the musical..."Anne of Green Gables". My parents and I lovvved that! It was Dave's first experience with Anne with an E. My parents even got to experience a bit of our church camp, Beulah! Overall we had a wonderful time with my parents...and of course I have heaps of pictures to share with you....

CANADA DAY

July 1st was Canada Day. Last year we spent Canada Day with the Lamos Family, so this year we decided to make it a tradition & do it again!:) I'm glad that Canada Day is so close to July 4th (Independence Day) makes me feel like I'm not missing out on every American Holiday. None the less we had a blast with the Lamos Family once again on Canada Day!

Vacation Bible School

Well it's hard to believe that our Vacation Bible School (aka: Avalanche Ranch) has come and gone. We have one the BEST children's ministries directors, she is amazing (Linda Lamos) and each year she along with her volunteers have a blast putting on a vacation bible school for our church & community. This year's theme was Avalanche Ranch, & it was heaps of fun. Over 150 kids showed up to hear the gospel in a "HOWDY PARTNER" sorta way...Because of the kids reached the goal of 150...our pastors (including my wonderful husband, Dave) all got whipped creamed & a bucket of COLD water dumped on them. The kids LOVED that!

Rally time @ the beginning had all the kids together for a drama & singing...then they were split in groups to go to game time, craft, snack, & Chatter theater...then back for a closing rally with music & spotlight drama:)

Wow, this past year has gone by sooo fast. We now have lived in Quispamsis, New Brunswick for a little over a year! I took a bit of time to look back through some of our old posts that we have done through the past year & it was fun to see all the cool things God provided for us to experience. We both feel very blessed & our excited to see what God has planned for us in the years to come... in life, in love & in ministry.

Dave's Uncle Fred & Aunt Janie came to visit us again this past week. It was great having them here. They had an extra little boat that they were no longer using & were kind enough to drive it all the way from Ottawa & give it to us!! How fun, we have a boat:) Thank you sooo much Fred & Janie, that is sooo awesome of you guys to do that for us! While they were here we had to go & get some yummy seafood & we got to celebrate Janie's Birthday. Too bad she dropped the cake when i asked if I could take a picture of her & Dave. We had a good laugh over that, & the cake was still good to eat!

We were lucky enough to have some old friends from IWU stop by Saint John & our home recently... The past two years we have spent Memorial Weekend with the Zigglers....this year we did too! David & Laura came to this side of the world for a wedding & we got a chance to catch up with them while they were visiting. It was fun to realize that it happened to be Memorial day when we got to see them...3 Years in a row with a Memorial visit! We will have to keep the tradition alive next year! It was great seeing David, Laura, & finally meeting their little girl. God has truly bless us with many new friendships since we have moved to Canada, but we sure do cherish the old friendships too!

We had our last Youth Staff get together this past Sunday at the house. A few of our Youth Staff came over for a BBQ. We sat on the lawn and enjoyed the food and fellowship and celebrated a great year at KV Youth. About half of the complete staff were able to make it. Been golfing some this summer, in fact I've been 3 times now this spring. I think I'm doing pretty good. A couple weeks ago I had my first multi-par game with 3 pars in one round. Today I hit my first Birdie. I was able to chip in from off the green and it just went in. I felt like Tiger Woods. It was kinda fun. Still don't think I'll take golf "seriously" but it's fun to do once in a while.

Volunteer Appreciation Night: The Theme "50's"

Last weekend was our 1st "Annual" Volunteer Appreciation Night & the theme was the 50's! The Staff @ Kings Valley (Dave & myself included) got the chance to THANK all the volunteers @ our church by giving them a great night of fellowship, entertainment & food! What a fun night! They started the evening off with a slide show of OLD pics of all the volunteers...you then had to guess who they were. Then the Pastors...Dave, Dan, Brent, & Chris did there version of Who's Line is it Anyway? Very Funny!! Next Brent & a few other guys performed live 50's music...Mel & I even got up on stage and did the hand
jive from Grease. Next was a wonderful catered dinner & dessert, yummy! Overall it was a great night & our volunteers @ KV deserved every minute of it!

Last week was May Rally 07'. We took a group of our teens from KV Youth...& had a blast! The Worship was very awesome, & the speaker even better! Darren Campbell, one of Dave's good friends was the speaker for the weekend. It was great being able to see Darren & his wife Nancy. It was neat seeing God work in our teens lives through this district event. Dave & his friend Tim (both youth pastors in this district) headed up the afternoon rec time....DODGE BALL! The teens loved it & I think Dave & Tim LOVED it even more:)

Well, Dave & I thought it was time to spruce up the outside of our wonderful home! Dave & I had been talking for ages about getting shutters, & had decided on the color...then I changed mind, again & again. Finally Dave decided to surprise me with shutters!! Luckily a day before he ordered them I was on a walk with my friend Corinne & I told her that I decided to change my mind and get grey shutters vs green ones (my first idea). Funny thing was she knew Dave was planning to surprise me so she quickly told him I picked a different color. Long story short, I wrecked the surprise but it was the thought that counts & I love the grey shutters Dave got for me!!:) Plus there was a mulch sale the other day, so I pulled a bunch of weeds and Dave spread the mulch down. It's amazing what a little mulch can do!! Plus the yellow flowers were already there from the previous owners & my friend & neighbor, Jennifer gave me some more to plant from her garden!! Those should be coming up soon!

We are still planning to paint the door the color (dark grey) of the shutters. Plus the big window we couldn't put shutters around because the light by the door was too close, soooo we are going to put up a dark grey long flower box under the big window. Plus as you can see I got a new pot & plant for our front step with a gift card I received for taking pictures for a friend. Fun stuff...

Yesterday was Dave's 30th Birthday!!! Yes my man is now "Over the Hill"! Dave took the day off and stayed home and relaxed and then I through a party for him in the evening to celebrate the BIG 30! Sister time!

Last Saturday night my sisters got on opportunity to fly in for a visit for a few days! What a blessing to have my family come for a visit. It was soo wonderful to have my sisters here and to show them around our new home, church, and city. The visit went way too fast, but the time we shared of course I captured with pictures!! And these aren't even half of the pictures I took! (you know me:)

What’s Up (brief words from Dave)

I love the television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I think it’s one of the best shows on television. Last week’s show featured the Wilson family. Mrs. Wilson was a grandmother of 4 who had her grandchildren come live with her when things weren’t working out with their mother. The family was living in a trailer that was being held together by duct tape. Even the grandmother was forced to share a bed with one of her grandchildren. When the limousine came to pick the family up, it was as large as the home they had been living in. The Wilson family was whisked away on a vacation while the designers and contractor built them a brand new home. Seven days later, the family returned to find a beautiful, spacious new home where there was once a beat up, cramped trailer. Mrs. Wilson fell to the ground when she saw the new home. She couldn’t even bring herself to walk through the front door when it came time for the family to see their home. When she saw the rooms and everything that had been given to her, she became more and more amazed. “It’s like a dream but it’s real,” she said. I love this part of the show. I love to see the family’s faces as they see their rooms or the backyard, or the new car that is left for them in the drive way. The families are always so thankful.

The Bible tells us to take off the old self and put on the new. We have been given this new life by our Lord and Savior. Where there once was a rundown, beaten up, Old life, Jesus came in and gives us a brand new, bigger and brighter new life. Better than we had ever dreamed. Sometimes we are like the Wilson family, and we fall to our knees with gratitude for the gift we have been given, but other times we take this new life for granted, and we ask God, “why can’t we have this in our life? Or where is that in this life?” I have yet to tune into Extreme Makeover Home Edition and have one of the kids walk into their room and say, “well I don’t really like purple, I hate this room, make it better.”

I ask you to think back to the life you had before Jesus entered and think about where you would be now without him. Take a chance today to thank God for your Extreme Makeover: Life Edition.

Live in Concert

This past Friday I had the opportunity to go to an Underoath/Taking Back Sunday show in Montreal. A group of teens from KV Youth we're telling me about the show a couple months ago and said they didn't have a ride, so I offered to drive if we could find a van. The Hicks we nice enough to lend us the van so Jeremy Lamos, Harley Hicks, and Keith Maber loaded up the Hick's van and headed up to the concert. We went to Ottawa first and spent the night Thursday at my Mom and Dad's place. We woke up and headed to Montreal.

The concert was at Olympia Theatre on Saint Catherine in Montreal. It reminded me a little of the places we'd see in New York or Haight Street in San Fran. There were rainbows in all the windows and a Peep Show place was across the street. I thought this was an interesting place for a "Christian" band to be playing, but then I thought if Christ was a rocker (and was a the Rock Star of his time) he'd probably be playing right here.

We waited outside for a couple hours and then were let in. The venue was a 1200 seat auditorium that had the lower seats removed. A perfect place to see a rock show. It was an old theater so it have the feel of the Pearl Jam "Alive" video from back in the day. A band Armor for Sleep opened the show and were alright. Underoath was up next and totally rocked the place. Spencer came out late in their set and performed an acoustic song that was pretty sweet. The thing I think I was most impressed with was near the end when Spencer talked to the crowd about Jesus Christ. He said that this band is here to honor their Lord Jesus Christ. Usually I had when Christian band say things like this because usually I see bands at "Christian" event and they say it and everybody cheers. It just seems cheesy to me. But here, Spencer was saying this in a place that he not only wouldn't get cheered he could actually get booed for having these beliefs. We went on to say "I'd tell you to take my word for it, but why should you, just know that Jesus Christ has saved my life time and time again". Pretty freakin' cool. Taking Back Sunday closed the show and were really good as well. I think I prefered Underoath though.

After the show we drove straight back here through the night. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be I slept from 6-7 AM in Edmunston and then we kept going, go home around 10:30 or so Atlantic Time. I was pretty tired that's why this post isn't up till today. Lynnette's Sisters got here Saturday night and we're spending the week with them. I'm sure there will be a post about that soon.

We had such a blast last night! Dave went away on Thursday to take a few of the guys from our youth group to a concert in Montreal & he will be back today....so I thought it was a great opportunity to invite the girls over for a "Girl's Night In". One thing I prayed for when we moved here was that God would give me amazing Godly friends to share life with, & He truly has! Moving to a new place I knew I had my best friend (Dave) with me...but every girl needs friends that are girls too...& I do but they are spread out all over the United States. But God has given me great friends here too & I feel very blessed to share life with these girls.

Each of the girls brought YUMMY food to share with the rest of us...we ended up with a great spread of food! This picture isn't even all the food we had:)

Three Birthday Cakes!!

Well today we celebrated my 27th Birthday! What a great day! I had a nice relaxing day, first I slept in, then Dave highlighted my hair for me!! (Yes, he does know how to do that!) Next,Dave took me out to a really cool restaurant in Saint John for lunch called "Jungle Jims". After lunch, Dave took me shopping @ Old Navy for some new clothes for my Birthday. Very fun, plus I have been getting calls & emails all day from family and new & old friends, wishing me a Happy Birthday. What a great day, like I said to Melanie earlier today, everyone should have a Birthday!! (hehehe)

I got spoiled with 3 Birthday cakes!! First, on Monday @ my small group two of my friends, Andrea & Melanie both brought me cakes!

Then Dave surprised me today with an ice cream cake! YUMMY:)

Jr. High Booster

This past weekend was Jr. High Booster Weekend @ Bethany Bible college. Dave & I didn't find out about it till last minute, but I still got the opportunity to bring 3 girls from our Jr. High group. We had a blast, being silly & crazy girls!:)

Last week was March Break for our students @ KV Youth so we took advantage of that and took the youth group skiing @ Poly Mountain. There was about 20 brave students & sponcers who made it out for the day. We all had a blast and it was a beautiful day!

Paris & Pink: Girls Night Lock In 2007

Welcome to Paris & Pink 2007!!!

What a blast!! This was the 5th year for Kings Valley's annual Girl's Night Lock In for our middle school female students. Two mothers from our church (Christie & Tracie) usually head up this event...this year I got to join that leadership team, so it was the three of us and LOTS of amazing volunteers that made the night such a huge success. The theme was "Paris & Pink"! We had over 170 girls at the event and it was soo much fun! When the girls first arrived and registered they each received a "Paris & Pink Passport" in which they had to get stamped at each of the vender's through out the evening. We started the evening with each of the girls entering Paris & Pink on our run way...The girls LOVED the runway, and I was sooo excited how it all turned out. This year my responsibilities was advertisement and decorations. And when Kings Valley does decorations, we go BIG! I got my creative juices running and I loved how all the decorations turned out! After all the girls entered Paris & Pink via the run way they were able to roam to all the vender's...who provided opportunities for the girls to get their nails, hair and make up done....they could get fake tattoos, make a purse, make earrings, be served at our bistro or cafe', get a facial from a Mary Kay representative, get their picture taken with a friend, or just have a blast walking around the room or up and down the runway. Later in the evening we had a concert by "Three Season Ant", a talent show hosted by Dave...I got a chance to share with the girls about how to be beautiful from the inside out...there was two movies shown...and that about summed up the all niter. Overall it went very smoothly with no drama. Looking forward to next years lock in...our theme will be "Hawaii".

Hillside Rally 2007

Hillside Rally is one of the Atlantic Wesleyan District Rallies that they have each year. Last weekend we drove a few of our students from KV Youth to Nova Scotia to go to this weekend event. We had a blast hanging out & "Kickin it Old School" (this year's theme.)

After the evening Rally there was late night swimming & dodge ball...here is a picture of the girls before getting ready to go swimming.

Hillside had host families for all of us to stay with. Most of the girls got in the same house. Thanks to Rachel & her family for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Two days after we got back from Florida, we were privileged to have Dave's mom and sister come for a visit! Sue (Dave's Sister) came to celebrate her friends (that lives in Saint John) 40th Birthday, so she was able to bring Dave's Mom here to stay with us for a few days! It was great being able to show off our new home, city, and church. Also I had fun cooking for Dave's Mom and Sister, when we visit them they always cook amazing food, sooo I wanted them to sit back and relax and let me cook for them. The Gathering 2007

What a great convention! Nearly 2000 pastors and their wives (families) attended the Wesleyan Pastoral Convention. We were challenged to live a life of personal holiness. Amazing speakers, seminars , and rallies! Our Senior Pastor, Don was in charge of the rallies, so most of us were helping out. Janet (Don's wife), Pastor Brent, and our newest staff member Pastor Chris (Worship & Creative Arts Pastor) were all a part of the worship team. And Dave and I were asked to help video and work the cameras for the rallies. At times it felt like a Wesleyan Reunion, we got to see a lot of old friends , it was great!

Worship was amazing, and it was great to see alot of our staff on the worship team led by Robin Mark.

Christmas Vacation 06

We've had a busy Christmas Vacation so far. We went to Ottawa first and then to Michigan. We had a wonderful time being able to hang out with both of our families! Now we're in Orlando for the Wesleyan Pastor's Convention "The Gathering" and we'll be home again soon. Here's some picks of what we've been up to.

After the Mason Christmas, we were off to Michigan to spend time with Lynnette's family for the new year. We even got to go to the Big Mowat gathering for Christmas on the 30th.

KV Christmas 2006

Dave and I had a blast being a part of this year's KV Christmas production, "The Gift". Kings Valley teamed up with Bethany Bible college to put on a great production about the greatest gift, Jesus. We had 4 different performances and the church was about packed out for each show! The first half of the production was filled with Christmas humor and fun holiday songs, and the second half focused on the reason for the season and the greatest gift of all. The choir and orchestra did an amazing job!

Here's a little taste of our Christmas production for those of you outside the Valley area that will not be able to attend this year. The people in the skit are myself (Dave), Don Ingersoll(Senior Pastor), Dan Lamos (Discipleship Pastor), and Brent Ingersoll (Assistant Pastor). Watch the intro first so the skit makes sense. Small Group SPA Party!

What a blast! I had a Spa Party for my 7 grade girls small group and their moms. We all had so much fun. The night was filled with laughs, good smells, manicures, and pedicures. I had the daughters serve their mothers and then the mothers serve their daughters. It was a great night of bonding with my girls and their moms.

Thanksgiving

This is the second time in 26 years that I haven't been home for Thanksgiving. But even though we were not able to be with family during Thanksgiving we were invited to share in an "American Thanksgiving Dinner" with our "family" from Kings Valley. The Bickfords invited us over for an amazing Turkey dinner! The Lamos', Ingersoll's, and Mason's were all there to share in a great night. Thank you Bickford's!

So here's my first attempt at designing a hooded sweatshirt. I took the logo that Kory Pence so skillfully designed for us and made it into a hoodie. I'm excited to see how they turn out. Hopefully we'll have them for January. We'll see. The chest logo is going to be raised and the other two will be screened, with the "KV" wrapping around the torso. Just figured I'd show it to everyone. You like?

The Power of a Praying Wife

A few months ago I was asked if I wanted to be a part of a new small group from our church made up of women that would be going through the book, "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian. I jumped at the opportunity because one, I heard that this was a "MUST READ" by my Aunt Joan and two, I wanted to be a part of a small group, and three, I thought this would be a great opportunity, not only to receive spiritual accountability but build new friendships at the same time.
We have been meeting now for 5 weeks and the book and the small group have been amazing! Each week we go through one chapter and then answer questions from the study guide. Plus we have a great time of prayer for one another and our husbands.
I want to challenge any wifes out there that haven't read this book...to read it! Is praying for your husband a priority right now? If it's not, I challenge you to begin praying each day for your husband and watch and see how you will not only grow closer to your husband but also grow closer to Christ at the same time! The book is not all about "Change my husband Lord!", but it focuses first on..."Change me, Lord."

Booster 2006

This past weekend we took a group of our students to Booster 2006, at Bethany Bible College. It was awesome to experience what Bethany Bible College is like, it made me miss college life! We had a great weekend, there was amazing worship times, powerful speaking, crazy activities, and a great hockey game! Each year they have the Bethany Hockey team vs the "Alumni" (all the youth pastors that bring their teens) well Dave is an "Alumni" just not from Bethany...but he still got asked to play! It was sooo much fun cheering for him and a few other guys...Tim, Brent, and all the other "Alumni". We hope to take a group this spring to experience Indiana Wesleyan! Go Wildcats!:)

Trunk or Treat

What a blast! We all had so much fun last night helping out at King Valley's annual "Trunk or Treat". Over 200 kids came! With all the parents and helpers there, we had over 350+ people at last nights event! The first hour the kids come and play games and win heaps of prizes while they eat popcorn and cotton candy. The second hour the kids are lined up outside and go to over 50 different Trunks to get candy. So many great costumes and cute kids! As you can see Dave, myself, Mel, and Brent got into the costume fun of the night. Brent is "Mic.Steamy" Mel and I are 70's girls, and Dave is Billy Madison.

KV Youth Leadership

We were afraid during this Summer that we wouldn't have enough leaders to have small groups during youth night...but God provided!! Our leaders rock and they have been doing an amazing job so far this year! Dave and I plan to have a get together outside of Youth once a month with our leaders. It gives us a chance to share about what God is doing in our individual youth small groups. We had a great time the other night with the Youth Leadership, and here are a few pictures for you to see.

I have always been a "cat person", now that doesn't mean that I'm not a "dog person" too...and I wish we still did have our dog Titan...but I wanted to post today about our wonderful cat...Lucy. Since we don't have kids yet, I have to brag about something and that one thing today is our cat Lucy. Lucy is loved by many and is known to be very friendly...even friendly to those who hate cats (Valerie). Anywho, I had an half an hour the other day to kill, before Dave and I went out to the movies with some friends so I decided to have a photo shoot of Lucy.

Canada's Thanksgiving!

Well today is my very first Canadian Thanksgiving! It's a beautiful fall day and the leaves are soo awesome (sorry you can't see them in these pictures)! Yesterday after church we were invited to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Ingersoll's. We had a great afternoon with Brent and Melanie and all their family up at their cottage at Beulah. Beautiful day and yummy turkey, can't complain about that!:)

What a Difference Paint Makes

We were blessed to be able to start painting our house this week. Lynnette had picked out the colours some time ago but we were waiting to have the money to get started (paint can be expensive). We started with the Living Room and the hallway. Here are some before and during pics of the project. We were lucky enough to have had previous owners that had the house painted rather neutral so it wasn't too bad waiting to paint, but it sure is going to look good. We'll post some more when it's all done.

First Guests to Stay

We have had the privilege of having several different guests over the past few months we have been living in Quispamsis, but all our guests have been new friends from Kings Valley...until now. This week we had our first guests to stay! Visiting us from Ottawa, Ontario...Dave's Uncle Fred and Aunt Janie came to visit and stayed with us the past few days! It was great having them here to visit with and show around our new church, city, and home.

We took Uncle Fred and Aunt Janie on a bit of a tour and saw the sites of Quispamsis and Saint John.

Uncle Fred and Aunt Janie took us out for lunch one of the days at a local lobster restaurant in Saint John.
